As Promised this is my next installment on the Gulf Coast.

Living on the Coast is a different way of life then living further inland. We have fish fries instead of BBQ’s, boat shows bring a bigger crowd than car shows, and we have boathouses instead of garages.

They can vary in size and shape, some simple with just a one slip, dock and roof. Others more elaborate with multiple levels, powered lifts, sunning decks, and (my favorite feature) fish cleaning stations.

But no matter the size or shape. These sun beaten, wind blasted, structures are the gateway, and safe haven for many boats on the Gulf Coast all year long.

It is a great sight to see when the kids are out, running full blast, and jumping into the water. Measuring to see who can jump out the farthest, or who can make the biggest splash. I also think of it as proof that the generations are not all that different. I know I have fond memories of doing the same thing!

Surf and Sand

The quiet of this beach with its sand swept clean by the nights wind showing only a few footprints, will soon give way to families, fisherman, and teenagers looking for their chance on one of many rented jet skis. The landscape colored with pink, blue, and yellow umbrella’s stuck deep in the sand to offer a bit of shade as the day wears on, turning temperatures hot and skin pink.

Whether you’re basking in the sun on a white sandy beach, or bobbing aimlessly over the waves on a boat, the water is always the focal point in one way or another! The gorgeous blue green water is sheltered on three sides by land, giving the Gulf slightly calmer pace then the oceans , making the Gulf a perfect spot for those who prefer lazy days and easy tides, over ten foot waves and rip currents.

As this hub comes to an end, so is the day here on the Gulf. So I feel it only appropriate to share with you a few more of my favorite sunsets
